Stonefly Nymph

Thought I try something a little different (differnet for me anyway) @ the Vice tonight:

#6 Circle Hook
Lots of Lead
Black Antron Dubbing
Dark Brown Biots
Mottled Turkey - Back & Legs:

Now THAT is a neat little stonefly nymph !! Well done, bspitt.

Great photography!

wow!!! Great looking fly.

OMG Awesome!

tasty!

Like chicken?

Great fly!

Great looking fly. Did it take you long to tie?

That’ll hunt.

Really, really nice.

Thanks for the Kind words!!!

It took me about 15 minutes to tie that one - but now that I have an idea of what I am doing I should be able to cut that in half. The hardest part is tying in the biots (getting the the correct & same length - and not twisting around the hook). The circle hook was kind of a pain also - It had to be re-set in the vice several times.

Brannon

nope-
like fish!

Did you get the manicure just for the picture?

Great looking nymph. Now, given the recent call for FOTW submissions, and your obvious skills in both tying and photography, I expect to see this in a step by step fairly soon!

Can’t wait to tie some up! What a great looking bug.

Kelly.

You have journeyed far young grasshopper since you first took that old vise home with you. Excellent flies that you are tying.

Nah—just a fresh coat of sally hansen clear as Nails:D:D

bamboo10 - thanks for being my “drug dealer” - got me started tying flys then wrapping rods:lol: - I am NOT going to start planeing cane! I am not going to start planeing cane! Repeat 10X

Have any of you guys ever used a circle hook? This is a 1st for me. I think it looks pretty good, but will that hook hinder (or help) hook sets?

Thanks
Brannon

That is AMAZING! It looks real to me! VERY well done!

Now I want to try that… Yeah, please submit as a FOTW!

That fly has got to be the fly of the week, it’s just too darn good.

I’ve never done a FOTW before on FAOL. However I’ll try to put one together in the next couple of weeks.

THANKS:D

Brannon
