Does have a good stonefly nymph pattern they’d recommend. I don’t tie stoneflies that often (the only one i tied so far was Kaufmann’s) so a new pattern would be appreciated. Thanks

If You can get the winter 2007 issue of flytyer magizine there are 3-4 stonefly nymph Micostones in various colors, and the tiny black stone, small green stone and the yellow stone I hope that helps

Nice flies. I’ll have to tie some of the Brooks Stones for this weekend. BBB, can you buy these wingcases at fly shops?
Yeah, its Thin Skin

A weighted rubber legs stonefly nymph works very well around here, on the South Fork of the Snake and Henry’s Fork. Very easy to tie, and very durable. Browns, bows, cutts and whitefish all seem to like it. Dark brown is probably the most consistently reliable color.

From other posts, I’ve noticed that this fly is popular in a lot of different areas.
I like this one. Also tie it in a golden version.
