I have chance to pick up a 7 or 8 weight rod (both Sage RPLXi) that I want to use for Steelhead (Michigan rivers) and would appreciate your opinions on these rods or another that I shouild perhaps consider.

I agree with the 8wt. Just started fishing for steelies the last few years and I have a 7wt. '9 "1/2. There have been more times than not I wished I had some more A@# in my rod. You will be happy with an 8wt Im sure.
