Ste-Marguerite River FishIn 2006

flyangler,

I know, … sounds pricey.

One day would go:
[ul]
[li]C&R salmon (and you can keep trout) 10.15$ (for the season)[/:m:77185][/li][li]Rod fee - unlimited rods zone 38.25$[/:m:77185][/ul][/li]
So one day including the C&R license goes for 48.25$ cdn

(then again, … other rivers in other provices where Guides are mandatory has been uped to over 300$/day USD

Still less expensive than the Jupiter too, where rod fees are around 500$ USD per day !

Say, … August is also a good time for resident brookies in the lakes and (non-salmon) rivers in the same area. I’ll look into it, … but I’ve never fished those waters.

Daily rod fee is about 12 bucks and licence is about the same. … More to come …

Chris;
Sounds like a roudy bunch headin’ your way!!
Question, why did the thread get so wide? I have to scroll from side to side to read it.

P. S. It’s a fun read by the way!!

Jack,

They can’t be any worse than when my old IT crew came up for a company fishIn in 2002.

They packed away a CASE of JD AND a Case of Black Label, … local beer store ran out, … they did in oer 40 lbs of moose steaks, 20 Canadian + Snow Geese and 10 lbs of extra old cheddar

The screen is too wide because of the image I “pasted” … I’ll fix that in 10minutes.
<edit> Voil?!

Hi Chris,
Looking at this thread I see that most folks are finding the fees a bit high.
If I may suggest, for someone to come all the way here and not wanting to spend to much money on fishing, they may enjoy
couple of days of salmon fishing and the rest chasing “the eastern Belle”- sea going brook trout in Saguenay River.
I live 15 minutes drive from the upper pools of Saint Marguerite river and could help with some tips on the great fishing in Saguenay River it self. There is ouananiche (land locked salmon), sea run brookies and dore(pickerel), in the upper section. As this is tidal water, I believe that only the tourist licence is necessary.
Just a thought.

Chris;
Just learned a big lesson about this type of event. Line up your “Go To” people and introduce them. Where is the Ice? Where is the Grill?, Where can I cash a check, etc.
I just spent 4 days as the “go to” guy and was a raving maniac buy Suday. Had one guy that started on Friday asking “where they would do the cooking”? (On Sunday) After telling him at least 100 times I lost it, went out and drove a stake in the ground and said “HERE YOU DUMB S.B!!!” Do not have people helping that cannot make decisions

Jack,

We’re planning to have EVERYONE at Bardsville which is situated 46 km from Tadoussac Quebec or about 1 hour from Chicoutimi.

This site is right on the #38 pool and is the old “historical” site where the old private club had it’s installations.

There are several cottages, “motel” rooms, common kitchen and 1 large cottage.

The cottages sleep 4-6 (6 if 2 want to share the fold out “Futon”, bath room with shower, living room and 2 bed rooms (sorry, … only twin beds in the rooms ).
Each cottage is equiped with propone light, stove and wood heat … as well as hot and cold running water.

The “motel rooms” are also similarly equiped for water and light. Propane heat. No kitchen, … but we are planning on setting up a community Kitchen in the common lodge.

The historical cottage sleep up to 14 and is fully equiped.

I’ll look into setting up camping sites for tents and RV’s … but wa have (so far) no plans to have a generator, … so hook-ups might not be available. If FAOL’ers need hook-ups, … I’ll see what can be done.

There are other accomodations available at either ends of the river, … but, … as we have accomodations for about 30, … we’ll try to keep everyone in one place.

If we set up Bardsville like we plan to, … the rates will be the BEST in the region.

We’ll keep ya’all posted.

Cheers.

Faruk,

Hey !!, … sorry, … I just read your posting properly.

If you’re in brampton, … how do you know the upper Saguenay.

Sounds like a good idea. 'cept, I know very little about the fly fishing in the Saguenay Fjord per say.

Drop me a note and we’ll chat about this. Good Idea !!.
