Some Appalachian Wulffs

If you’re a Volunteer

you go green

If you’re a Tar Heel

it’s yellow

Scott,

Most Wulffs I have seen and also tied tend to have a bushy tail made of moose body hair or another material similar to that one. Do you find the tippet tails negatively affect the “buoyancy” of these Wulff patterns? I love the way a tippet tail looks, I’m just wandering what it does to its floatability and durability.

Alberto,

I was tying these true to the recipes I’ve seen, so I used the GP tippets for the tails. If I was planning on fishing them, I’d go with moose body hair tails, as you suggested.

Those are some good looking flies, definately. Awesome job.
