Desert is a sight.
We had a little Monday and about 1 foot yesterday. My wife is happy, Bella, my pup is confused and I’m amazed. The carport awning collasped under the weight and both cars were under it. My neighbor gave us a hand this morning and I backed both vehicles out. They are both Saturns so no real damage. The sun was out all day with temperatures in the 50s so most of the white stuff is gone. Now it’s just a muddy mess.
I’ve had jury duty for a week and the weather has shut us down three times. Back tomorrow then I should be done. Jim
We have snow here too. We live at the top of a hill, even the driveway is on a slant. It snowed Wednesday afternoon, wet snow that froze. Today, Thursday it’s like a skating rink here. Only an inch or so on the road but sheer ice. We’re ice-bound. No thawing is forecast until next Tuesday at the earliest. We’re OK, just stuck here for a while. ![]()
I had heard that seatle and portland were getting snow today. Got be a little freaky in that are but unheard of in the mojave. Her in Idaho we are supposed to get 5" tonight. Christmas it is supposed to be in the 40’s here totally insane weather. Hope everyone does ok through all this. Keep in mind it is just starting. If you are not used to driving in the snow don’t drive unless you have to.
In my 40 years, I have been through the Mojave exactly once, on a trip back from Colorado to northern California. Swung south to miss a huge winter storm in the Sierras. Donner Summit in a blizzard, no thanks.
So, there I am, driving through the dreaded Mojave. And it was snowing. Figures.
Well, My 73 year old neighbor used my snowblower yesterday to blow most of the snow out of my and his yard. O yea, only about 3 inches that didn’t blow on to wherever. The atv will take care of the rest that drifted in our shared driveway. Is it right to have fun while moving snow?
Also, the neighbors blower is in the repair shop, so we share.
Some enterprising young man just came to my door offering to shovel my front walk, Didn’t ask for money so I told him $5.00 if he would do my back deck also. He did one heck of a good job!![]()
Will be in Kansas and Nebraska for the next week. Have to see the daughters and spoil the grand daughters, and maybe see HRH Betty, and Bluegill222
If anyone needs some advice on snow removal, I’m sure there are some on this sight who have more knowledge than I do!!![]()
18 to 20 inches here in beautiful Sedro Woolley and I don’t live all that far from Castwell.
