slumpbuster

I’m interested in finding out the recipe for a streamer fly called the slumpbuster which I understand is one of John Barr’s creations. Is anyone familiar with it? :?:

Yup. Here it is. http://www.charliesflyboxinc.com/flybox … arentID=37

SJH…

the slumpbuster is a very effective pattern forsure…

but take a thing or to out… and make it a little different… you also have a KILLER fly!!

if your fishing shollow water… here a good one to…

TMC 200R (size 8-12) hook
Black 3/0 danville thread
pine squirrel (black, olive, natural)
superglue or zap-a-gap

place hook in vise, start thread and wind it back to the bend keeping it very tight
measer the strip the lengh of the hook, seperate the hair and tye on to the hook
bring thread back to the front of hook (leaving small space between each gap)
add a small amount of glue to the back of the hook
(NOTE: here you need to work fast… while keep it neat!!!)

once the glue is on the hook… wrap the squirrel the lenght of the hook stroking the hair back on each strip (keep the hair out of the glue… and your fingers)…

the may take a couple of tries… but this is one of the patterns I use for night fishing

The first fly on the top is like the stumpbusters I have seen but its missing the rubber legs I normally see on them here in Washington State.

Thanks for your information!
