Anyone ever hear of this rod maker? The rods look and sound like they are pretty good. I lost a bid for one on Ebay, so now I’ll have to buy one for full price.

I bought a 8’6" 7 weight from Bob about 3 years ago and picked up an 8 weight second hand.
I really enjoy the 7weight (just got the 8, haven’t cast it yet). It has a nice moderate feel and is very accurate.
P.S. It is a win-win situation. Bob send me the rod with the one stipulation. If you like it send me a check, if you don’t return the rod. Nice guy.
Although I don’t own a Sierra Classic I have cast a couple of the rods. I can assure you that Bob’s work is top notch (including the beautiful “Blood of the Lion” wood work).
Bob is awesome. I have a beautiful little 5’6" 3wt. that he made just for me. It’s my favorite rod. The craftsmanship is great, and the attention to detail is very nice. His try out program shocked me too, you just tell him what you want, he makes it to order just for you, sends it to you, and then you send him the check for the rod. His rod cases are top notch also, they have an adjustable position for the handle which allows you to move it from one end of the case to the other if you so desire, or anywhere in between. I cannot say enough about Sierra Classic rods. And I cannot waight until I order my next rod from him. Good luck
