September Swap of the Month

Howdy! I would like to do something different for the September SOTM. We will do fly patterns with unconventional materials. Use as many materials as possible. Some materials out there include - aluminum cans, plastic bags, sequins, plastic net bags from produce, rubber bands, mylar from snack packaging, etc. Anything goes - have fun.
I will do a Metal Flutter Fly from an aluminum can.

I am in for the Dorito bag Buzzer

This is going to be a challenge, I am in just need to figure out what to do.

Will have to put my thinking cap on.

Rick

Researching!

Running a little behind on August as I’m finishing a rod. Anyway, I’m in with a chek (sic) nymph made from Christmas tinsel.

I think the spelling is check and you can make it out to me.

I played around and came up with a fly. Ribbon fibers for wings and tail. Foil off a candy wrapper for the body.
Hope they get to Texas faster than the last time.

Rick

I’ll watch for them, Rick. I’ve had problems mailing to South Texas in the past.

Bob9

I think our postal workers take sunny days as optional.

I use a lot of rubber in my check nymphs. They don’t fish to well either.

I can not find a name for this soft hackle style of nymph so I call it Igor (after the dubbing donor).

Balloon Bug for me. Tied with of all things a balloon!

I think it spells Czech.
Greets
Sjo

I just got back in town. Let me ponder this for a while, and I’ll announce a pattern. Right now, I am thinking, “rubber-band grub”.

Good looking flies arrived today from Rick Z.

Bob9

jwb1977 is tying flies for September SOTM.
