Has anyone built on an SCIII fly rod blank and fished it? I think it’s the same blank St. Croix builds it’s Avid line. I was looking to build a 9’, 5 wt. or even a 10’, 5 wt. I would appreciate all opinions. I won a St. Croix Imperial Rod several years back, and even though it’s one of their low-end rods, I really love it. I’m trying to duplicate that feel with a 5 wt.

yes that Is a Avid blank, I havent built on a avid but they are a nice rod I think but you cant go wrong with any of the st croix lineup
Built a nice rod for my daughter and it fishes very well. Looks good too! It is a 9’ 5 Wt. SC III and I have used it several time myself since my daughter went to college. I think St. Croix builds a nice blank.
