Hey gyus, any pict. of your favoite one/ s?
I need some ideas for my flytying desk this night.

I’ve had pretty good luck with this one:

I tie it with dumbell eyes so the hook rides point up (cuts down on snags) and I add a section of plastic zip strip to help stiffen the tail and keep it from fouling the hook.

Scott
One that has brouht me alot of bluefish was featured on this site but can not find it so I’ll try and describe it. Its is basically a zonker but the belly is either polar flash or grand ersatz. To tie faster the tail is tied in over the hook point then the body is wrapped and the zonker strip is pulled over the top and tied at the eye. There isn’t a need for the tail support if the tail is short like I tie them. To help make them last longer against the teeth of the blues I tie in some thin wire befoer tying in the body and over wrap the thread tie in at the tail then tie it down before wrapping the body. I haven’t the strip over the back get cut yet so I see no need to palmer the wire through the back strip. I hope this helps. Ron

Scott P- Yes but I do not use the dumbbell eyes as the fishing is generally shallow open water. Ron
Thanks for your help guys.
