I got out for panfish today. At least that was the idea. In practice, I caught two small fish and found a half a dozen bobbers. That seemed to be a half a dozen bobbers better than the bank fishermen I talked to. I released the fish and scattered the bobbers in grass for the kids who fish in the park to find. I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised; we had a hard frost and daytime temps in the forties just a few days ago.
You did better than my last try. Got one little gill, and no bobbers.
I had a bad accident on Christmas Eve and can’t walk well, especially on uneven surfaces like banks of ponds. It “healed” but because I had to have it in a straight brace a couple of months it’s not very strong/stable. I should be “normal” once its regained strength but I think I’m going to try fishing tomorrow because I can’t stand missing spring fishing.

Took Susan to Kitty’s pond today. Was cloudy and cool so expectations were not high and our first trip this season. To our surprise Susan pestered 8 bass with 6 to hand on top-water. Self pestered 30+ hand sized BG’s with several bass-bait sized ones mixed in to keep one honest. It was a short 2 1/2 hr trip….2:30-5PM trip.
Things ARE looking up!
