Purely for nostalgia, I looked up and at the photos/information about an FAOL supported Fish-In event held in 2003. Thought some of the participants might still be around, or some of you might simply like to see them and read about the event. There are also photos from a few additional years as well.
First you have to do a search from the Home Page for: '[FONT=verdana]ROSCOE ‘FISH-IN 2003’ PHOTO’S
For that year you go to #4. For other years just click on them.
Then to Photos and scroll.

PS: Just to clarify something. My “Join Date” should read "(not sure of actual month) but 2002.
Allan,
Thanks for the memories,
I would have bet my wife and I were in attendance BUT apparently not. Did the Fish-Ins at the Delaware River Club predate the Roscoe FIs?. I know FOR SURE we were there. We met you and many others now no longer active and some passed on. Ron Kusse delivered Slic his long awaited custom quad. Denny demonstrated feathercraft from SCREECH/SQUAAK to raw? cape. My wife will NEVER forgive him for that , RIP Denny. Even LF and Himself graced us with their presence all the way from Poulsbo WA.
Those were the days!
Yes. The Fish-In at the Delaware River Club was the year before that, in 2002. I think there may have been one in 2001 also at the DRC but I was not there for that one. I was at the one you describe in 2002. That’s where I met you and your wife, the people you mentioned and many others. As you said, some are no longer with us. Denny and I became great telephone friends. At the DRC there was a fly tying contest and after that, sort of on a dare from him, I tied him up a Royal Wulff size 32. Mark Romero tied some big gaudy Atlantic salmon flies. Kusse displayed some rods. Do you remember the ‘broomstick’ casting’ that “Himself” devised - hilarious, the distance casting and accuracy casting contests? It was very hot but that didn’t stop Les from being in the water. The 2002 Fish-In was a lot of fun as were the subsequent Roscoe Fish-Ins. Maybe one can be arranged for Roscoe this year? Just a thought.
The Fish-Ins pictured were before my time with FAOL, but the enthusiasm of the angler and quality of events were certainly worth watching. I have really enjoy fishing that area and visiting the Center in the past. Now, several of us are planning the Michigan Fish-In the end of June and hope to have a good crew there. I’m not sure that it will equal the enthusiasm of some of the earlier ones and that’s a shame. Thanks for the post.
