An army of Col. Fullers stands ready to defeat their foe, micropterus dolomieu. I wish spring would arrive so I could send these boys into battle… sigh. Alec

I wish anything I did looked that good.
Nice, very nice. Jax
Getting Old has it’s advantages. It slows you down just enough to get your timing for tightening into a trout Just Right.
Those are outstanding!

Thanks for the compliments - these are an easy and effective classic to tie. That old saw “red and yella gits a fella” seems to apply! Cheers, Alec

flytackle,
What is that display / drying stand. Something you made? Looks like some kind of Lego board but I know it can’t be that. Looks like something I need, or should say want.
Such nice fies. They look to pretty to fish with.
Leo C.
Nice set of flies ya got there flytackle. I tied one of those up over the winter. I was never sure about how that style of bass fly is supposed to be fished.
Fish’n Nick,
The Colonel Fuller can be found in the “Old Flies” archives. But you can get there from [url=http://www.flyanglersonline.com/features/oldflies/part108.html:f494f]here[/url:f494f]
Flytackle,
Nice job tying these!
There’s almost nothin’ wrong with the first lie, it’s the weight of all the others holdin’ it up that gets ya’! - Tim
Thanks again Fellas. As MOturkE pointed out above, the recipe can be found in the Old flies section, the only difference being the color of the body (these are silver; I tie them both silver and gold). The one illustrated in the Old Flies article is a streamer fly style - these are in the classic bass fly style, with wings and cheeks made with goose cussettes.
Leo C - the drying stand is a small wooden frame with an insert of a material called Nubby Tack - it’s simply raised rubber posts. You can get fly boxes with it and tear it out. I have tried to find bulk nubby tack so I could make a big one, but to no avail. Don’t confuse this product with bristle-tack, which is really just one half of giant velcro. If anyone knows a source it would be appreciated. Tight lines! Alec
