Ready for Another One?

The second largest seller of flies in the US,
I’ll give you a clue on this one, NOT a dry fly.

Now I’ll definitely say Woolly Bugger

LF,

My response is based on a ‘specific’ pattern, not style.

I’ll say the Pheasant Tail Nymph.

Allan

I’m sticking with my first guess. Hare’s ear.

I’m sticking with my first guess. Copper John.

Muddler Minnow

No, No, No, No!!! Not again? Just when I thought I’d get a good night’s sleep!! I will not guess, I will not guess I will not guess!!!
Ah Shucks…The Woolly Bugger!
Hope the late show’s are good tonight!!??
Maybe the PHT or the Hare’s Ear or the Scud or the Glow Bug or the …Ain’t it just like a women to ruin a man’s evening???

Well, I’ll try hare’s ear for this one.

Joe

Based on the answer to the first question, I’m going to guess the wet flies that I see on display in WalMart – either a Black Gnat or a McGinty.

Will stick with the copper john.
But, as BigFlatBrook mentioned, they sell a lot of black gnats at wally world

Muddler Minnow, I think, If I didn’t tie it would be at the top of my subsurface pattern list of flies to buy. -Yaf

Woolly Bugger

To fish or not to fish?
What a stupid question.

Just to be different I’m going to say the Mickey Finn.

This one is a wooly worm, probably black with grizzly hackle and a red hackle fiber tail.

all leaders tangle; mine are just better at it than most. Jim

I’m sticking w/ copper john for number 2.

and…no way they sell more royal forkin coachmen than adams in it’s many variations.

statistics can be skewed to support nearly any argument. especially when yer doing yer own research.

Sorry Micky, the survey according to the Fishing Tackle Retailer was done among all manufacturers and distributors of flies in the US. Don’t think anyone had a dog in the fight - the magazine isn’t even a fly fishing one, even 'tho they do have some ff information in it.

Wooley Booger

Semper Fi!

“and…no way they sell more royal forkin coachmen than adams in it’s many variations.”

Hey Mikey,

How do you tie a Royal Forking Coachman? Does it have like a split bucktail upwing or something.? I know how to do a regular Royal Coachman, a wet Royal Coachman, a Streamer Royal Coachman, a Bucktail Royal Coachman and an Upwing Royal Coachman, but I’ve never seen a Forking Royal Coachman. How about posting the pattern…? (LOL)
