Quimpy SBS

Quigley/Humpy (sounds better than Humgley); change color/size to suit your needs.

hook - Dai Riki 300 #8
thread - UTC 140 grey brown
tail - moose body hair
body - dubbing grey/brown
shellback/wing - deer hair
hackle - grizzly/ginger

Part 1

mash barb/start thread; wrap to bend

clean, stack, measure (shank length) a clump of moose body hair; tie in, wrap to 2/3 mark/trim

clean, stack, measure (hook length) a clump of deer hair; tie in at eye, set angle with a few wraps in front

trim out about 2/3 of the deer hair; continue wrapping remaining hair to the tail, keeping it on top of the shank (got this from Charlie Craven; whether he originated the idea is moot, it cuts down on bulk and makes the humping process a lot easier)

dub thread/dub body to 2/3 mark

Part 2

pull the deer hair forward (gave it a very slight twist to counteract thread torque at tie down)

tie down/trim butts

tie in hackle(s)

wrap hackles, tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN
