Quigley Flag Dun

Switched to thread for hackle loop instead of wing base like I did a while back. Tied here as an Adams/callibaetis (feel free to mark up the wing with a black Sharpie); change color/size to suit your needs.

hook - WFC Model 3 #14
thread - UTC 70 grey brown
shuck - Congo Hair brown
abdomen - tying thread
loop - tying thread
hackle - grizzly
thorax - dubbing hare’s ear
wing - Congo Hair white

Scott

Very nice.

I want to tie up a bunch of these. Any chance you could do a SBS?

What do you think about this pattern in a yellow body/tail? (I think this one in purple would be killer)

SCG
.

Check out the link to the Sparkle Flag that I mentioned in the description; the sequence is pretty much the same but instead of using the Congo Hair wing as a base to wrap the hackle, tie in a loop of thread and wrap the hackle around that. Yellow should work, especially if there are flies coming off that resemble them.
