Having a challenge in getting that “fuzzy” nymphy look with this stuff. I’m trying. although each of my efforts look pretty fishy. Just not that wild and wooly look common to the Hare n Copper. JGW
I got flies in from GQualls. Thanks for the bonus material. I really love that stuff. And olive is one of my most used colors.
I’m tied. Used a gun barrel cleaner to fuzz things up a little. Nothing like the real Hare N Copper that’s for sure, but it will pass. Mail on Monday. JGW

Finally got mine done after tons of experimenting and tuning. Here’s the recipe for most of them (a couple of experimentals might be in the mix also…they’ll fish just fine):
Punch Stimulator
Hook: TMC 200R, size 12
Thread: 6/0 Burnt Orange
Tail: Coastal Deer Hair (fine)
Abdomen: [620-62036] - Purr-fect Punch acrylic yarn (36-School bus yellow)
Abdomen hackle: size 18 grizzly dry
Ribbing: fine gold wire
Wing: Coastal Deer Hair (fine - same as Tail)
Thorax: [620-62041] - Purr-fect Punch acrylic yarn (41-Glazed carrots)
Thorax hackle: size 12 brown dry
Traditionally, the abdomen hackle on a Stimulator is supposed to be two sizes smaller than the hook. The hackle pack I had in size 16 just seemed a tad long so I switched to 18 and they came out a wee bit cleaner. Some of what I’m sending were tied with size 16 hackle on the abdoment but most are size 18.
Finding just the right hackle for the thorax took forever but I’m happy with the results.
[url=http://www.troutflies.com/tutorials/stimulator/index.shtml:5c889]Troutflies.com’s tutorial[/url:5c889] was a big help in sorting out some of the problems I was having (mostly with dialing in the proportions so the Thorax wasn’t too small). You can see it here:
There will be a couple of the experimental ones included for the swap host to toss at his local aquatic targets (or nearest tree…which ever you prefer…I find these flies, like most of mine, catch trees very nicely). ![]()
I’ll post again when they’re in the mail. I need to get stamps before I can send 'em.
Received flies from DieKatze today.
Ol’ Blue. My flies are on the way. Mailed this morning. JGW

I got flies in from white43 today.
Received flies from cholcomb13 today.
Mine went in the mail this afternoon. Real stamps tucked in there for the return trip.
There are extra Stimulators in there as well (for the host). A couple are the early experiments so the thorax hackle isn’t identical on all of them but I think all are very fishable.
Another FAOL member has already caught a nice rainbow on the hot-butt version of a punch yarn Stimulator. So, they’ve already been field tested… ![]()
Got flies in from JackHise today.
Received flies from thwack today.
Mailed mine by priority mail.

Received flies from Kahuna last night.
I’m waiting for a response from the one missing participant, and in the meantime, I’m tying up another set of flies to make up the difference just in case. As soon as that is done, I’ll get pictures taken and everything shipped out. Great job everyone!
Idabelangler,
You have e-mail.
I tied up a second set of flies last night, so I will start pictures tonight. Flies should be in the mail by this weekend.
Ole’Blue you got mine right??
Kahuna
Yep, got them on the 12th.
