Platte River Spider (variation) SBS

A few changes to the original.

hook - Dai Riki 899 #6
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - golden pheasant crest dyed red
rib - small wire gold
body - tinsel gold
1st shoulder hackles - golden pheasant body feathers, red over yellow
2nd shoulder hackle - woodduck flank
wing - furnace over yellow

Part 1

mash barb, start thread; wrap to point

measure (gap width past bend) gp crest; tie in, tie in wire, wrap to return wire at eye

tie in tinsel; wrap to tail with touching wraps and back, tie off/trim

counterwrap wire, helicopter end, cover with thread

prep gp feathers tie in by tip; wrap, tie off/trim

Part 2

tie in woodduck flank by tip; wrap, tie off/trim

prep wings (one set/each side), furnace over yellow; measure (tips to tail; no clue as to what I’m focusing on here)

tie in (semi-tented here as opposed to vertical alignment on the original), whip finish, SHHAN
