plastic flea comb

Okay, I admit defeat. I have been trying to find a cheapie plastic flea comb to use to comb out antron for emergers. I found one on online for 0.99, but 3.95 S&H. Anyone have one they would throw in an envelope, charge me less S&H than the Big Places?
Thanks very much.
Mike

Go to the local pharmacy or WalMart, etc. In the baby section you’ll find what you’re looking for. You could also glue a strip of ‘male velcro’ to a popsicle stick (or similar) and use it. Makes a great dubbing picker-outer too.

Look for a NIT comb, I got two in a package from CVS

Thanks, I’m heading to the big city tomorrow and there are 2 more pet shops to try and CVS type places.

I was going to recommend the nit comb. Or perhaps a moustache comb. you could hit a cheap tool store for a small brass brush, looks kind of like a tooth brush only with brass bristles. That would do the trick.

walmart. pet section for Flea comb, childrens pharma for nit comb… flea combs are cheaper…or go to the gun section and get a brass shotgun brush

I must live in the flea free, nit free area. The only combs I could find were $4.99 and up. One drug store had nit combs for $19.99. Undaunted, I will continue onward! Of course being an old Yankee thirftee, that is cheap, guy, doesn’t help.

Hi Mike!
I understand what you mean about being a “Thrifty Yankee”. Just don’t take that as far as my wife does. She will burn $10 worth of gas driving from store to store in order to save $5!

Thanks Royce! I had to make this trip for a number of reasons, so the gas got prorated!

Hey Mike. After I posted my reply it occurred to me that I may have offended you. I hope not. I didn’t mean to “get on your case” about shopping around. The jab was directed at my wife, not at you. Believe me, her tightwad Scandinavian heritage will trump your Yankee Thrift any day!

Royce! No problem! I laughed so hard my wife was wondering what I was doing! When I told it was the fly fishing site, I got the “Yeah sure”:D:D

If you haven’t found a flea comb yet, try a vet clinic. Many have them for about $1.00.
