Pittsburgh, PA area best FF store.

A friend of mine moved there and she’ll be happy helping me buy FF stuff. ('till now my family in Miami, FL has helped me but I think PA will be a better place to look for trout FFing stuff.)

Thus, I will kindly appreciate any info on stores in the Pittsb, PA area.

Best prices, well stocked and better customer service.

Thx

Dave

Dear dphotoco,

Unless you plan to travel up North and shop with your friend you will still have to contend with shipping costs.

You’ll be hard pressed to beat either of these Pennsylvania fly shops. Both feature catalogs and the ability to order online. I have dealt with both of them for more years than I care to remember.

These are by no means the only quality fly shops in PA, but I can say that I have no qualms about recommending either of them.

“I’ve often wondered why it is that so many anglers spend so much money on,and pay so much attention to.the details on the wrong end of the fly line.If they took as much care in selecting or tying their flies as they did in the selection of the reel and rod,They might be able to gain the real extra edge that makes it possible to fool a fish that has,in fact, seen it all before” A.K.Best

“Wish ya great fishing”

Hands down, the best fly shop in the Pittsburgh area is on Rt. 19 south in McMurray, it will be on the right if you’re coming from the city. It’ll be right after you pass a light for Gateshead Drive and before the gas station on the right. I know this because I grew up there. There used to be a good shop in Dormont, but now the place I speak of is the best. They have most major manufacturers and the guys that run it are very helpful. They gave me some great tips and sold me some stuff while I was back there visiting.

My experience has been the best at International Angler - 2 locations.
