I tried photographing a fly with the macro setting on my android phone. I like the result, but I can’t figure out how to get it from the phone to this computer. Help! Update: I can get to the picture on my Chromebook and uploaded from there, I would still like to know how to get it to my desktop.
i take photos with my iphone. i will send it to myself as an attachment in an email. from there i can download it from the email to my desktop and save or to any file folder i might have created

I send them from my phone to my email. From there I download them and then attach them to a post on here.
Thanks guys. That’s what I tried to do. I tried again this morning and it worked. Update, yesterday’s e-mails just showed up a little while ago.
as a side note in a topic post you can use the Upload icon above your text entry
and upload the photo… OR just copy paste it into the edit box.
If FAOL is accessed on a phone (well at least android) it allows you to download an app like thingy (discourse app branded to FAOL)
I have a zfold so the big screen helps. Not sure if you could copy paste from there or not.
Apple stuff has something maybe? similar… I don’t do apple.
Not sure about iPad though
need to grab my wifes phone and my iPad (if its charged) and check it out.
I had no idea!!! Trying this suggestion with a handy picture. Norm, Jim, are your phone/pad/computer not synced to each other? Obviously not a computer type here, but if I take a picture from my phone or pad, it automatically saves it to each, and my desktop, and the “cloud” and goodness knows where else!

Just to be clear - these two photos were not taken with a phone, since I don’t have one of those thingies, but with an Olympus Tough point and shoot camera. They were transferred from the camera to my computer. To post them here, I simply copied them from my photo file and pasted them into the posts on this thread.
The fish are always right.
All of my photos, be they cell phone or SLR, are automatically saved to my photo file. To place them here, slide one from the file to the desktop, click the little photo box in the reply bar, then drag and drop your photo into the FAOL post. Easy-peasy!
