Photo tip: How to make your catch look BIGGER!

In order to achieve hero status on the internet, one must consistently catch large fish.

I don’t.

That’s why I built a two weight. Little bluegill on a five is kinda boring.

So, earlier today, I experimented with camera angles in order to enhance the size of my catch.

Exhibit A: A ten inch bass. Boring. If you hold it too close to the camera, it looks even smaller:

Same fish, lower angle, further away (adjusted saturation level):

Note how the fish not only appears to gain length, but girth as well… Eat your heart out Jimmy Johnson.

Nice job! LOL!

Great advice! I thought you were kidding…but it really works! I tried your techniques, and came up with these shots:
1" bass, close to camera:

And then using your “hero” method:

Its weird how that little extra distance and angle makes the fly appear smaller, but the fish looks bigger.

Wow, almost perfect. Adjust those saturation levels, and…

No offense, but why would you want to misrepresent your catch?
