It’s pretty neat!

One of Maine’s bamboo rodmakers who comes to our SuperBoo called me to donate a fly rod to help out the kids… we decided that helping out the Maine TU Trout Camp would be the best match. He was thinking about posting all alone the way, but was nervous people wouldn’t find it interesting, etc… hardly!

He’d never done anything like this, so it almost took him more time than making the rod.

Worth a look.

That is a great write-up! He did not just explain how to build the rod. He explained how to setup the hand mill and enough on the heat box and dipping tube for someone to actually make what they needed.

I also liked the part on making things hollow and how he thought it affected the action of the rod.

Very well done.

I’m always interested in “How it’s made” for whatever. I have no clue, skill or intention of building my own but enjoyed this pictorial . Well done.
Thanks for posting this kb.

PS: Now “back” to carrying 10’ sheets of firecode drywall doubles… GROAN! Sometimes even the GC needs to “carry” the load.

So that’s why I never made one…
