Pfd

I was in Cabella’s the other day & I picked up a Inflatable PFD suspenders. It’s one of those that you can inflate by pulling on a lanyard, blowing in a tube or set up for automatic inflation. Most of the streams I fish are not deep enough to use it so I never had much use for one while wading, but I’m heading out to the Bighorn this month & was wondering if I should bring it along. I understand that you can’t take them on an airplane so I was thinking of shipping it out there. Has anyone had any experiences with one of these. & is it worth the trouble of shipping out there???

I’d call whatever airline you plan on using and ask. If you really can’t take them on a plane, by all means ship. Water is higher than normal out here in the west, greener than anyone can remember. Also more dangerous. Do what you need to do.
But have fun!
Hugs,

If you can’t carry - ship it. Ive fished it a couple of times and its scary how quickly you can step into deep water and you never see it coming.

The bighorn is a GREAT fishery, but deceivingly dangerous.

When we flew to Montana 2 summers ago I packed a mustang PFD, a caddis float tube, waders, fins and a lot of other stuff in my check on luggage. It went with me everywhere I went. If there’s a problem maybe you can disarm it and buy a CO2 cartridge for it where you land. Just my .02 cents. Jim

here’s the montana pfd regs.

call montana and see if your inflatable is allowable.
