Penna. Fish-In?

I don’t know if I’m just gettin over the Christmas season or if cabin fever is just knocking on my door. But I’ve been thinking alot about last year’s Pa. fish-in on Pine creek. My wife’s work is asking for vacation weeks already and I was just wondering if anyone else was planning along those lines yet?
Ron G.

Hi Ron,
I did have a call from Bruce on this, and it looks like a go. I will post any information as soon as I have it.

Thanks. I’ll keep an eye out for it. Ron G.

Ron

Getting hungry for some deep fried turkey or is it the honey baked smoked ham? My staff(wet fly guy) and I are ready to start cooking.
We do have a tentative date, but I’ll wait for Dry fly guy to give the info to Ladyfisher. We’re looking at the first week of June but need to check on the new housing portion of the Fish In. Once that is firmed up, then Bruce will contact Ladyfisher to make the announcement on what the dates will finally be.
Get your green weenies ready and also make a new roof rack for fishing reels if you still like driving around with them on the roof.

BTW- you’re not the first to ask when we are having it again. I was asked by no less than four people if we are having another. Seems it was a big hit and lots of great memories.
See you on the Pine-Randy

where on the pine will it take place? we have a camp in Gaines, Tioga County

Ahhhhhh

Gaines–upper Pine creek watershed. I fish that area a lot too. From Berger lake in Galeton to Ansonia. We can talk more on that later. I’ll be up there most of May. Maybe some in April.
The Fish In was held in Waterville. At the confluence of both the big and little Pine. Keep tuned in as the info will be forth coming.

Randy

Get 'er going guys; we’ll try to support ya all we can. The sooner you start planning, the better.

Wet

if it happens in early june, I could probably make it. I’ll keep my eye on this thread…

Marty

Please bear with me for just a few more days. Having trouble getting with owner of Happy Acres to firm everything up. Looking at dates of June 6 through 10. These are not yet definate. As soon as I get everything set I will post a message and LadyFisher has promised to set up a Fish In site for us as soon as I can get the info to her. SORRY BUT THIS IS BEST i CAN OFFER RIGHT NOW.

MrFishingtoughguy (aka Marty) Matt and I did the trip for the inaugoral last year. Had an enjoyable time. Just one thing to store in your brain cell, DO NOT let “WetFlyGuy” get near your stream thermometer - seriously! Got a lot filling the plate for this spring/summer…we are trying to be patient Bruce…take care.

BigDadyRods,
You’ll have to ask Matt how his deep fried turkey was this past Thanksgiving. His mom finally caved!!

Cya,
Mike K.

My Umpqua cheapie thermometer will be all locked up

I say “could probably go” because we will most likely be in the process of moving. Don’t know where yet, but we’ll know by the end of next week. Exciting time, in ten days we’ll know where we’ll be spending the next 7 years of our lives!!!

Marty

I might be able to make that one too! I’m not fimiliar with that area, but I have fished it around Galeton and Cedar Creek.
Marty, get the ultra light spey rod ready…it’s pretty good sized water. lol.

dear mr. cheesesteak,

with your newly discovered celebrity status, I believe you’ll need a skilled, smarmy talent representative not unlike myself. I think a trout spey rod would make an excellent down payment for my services.

I like how this is shaping up already! Does that mean I should leave the 2wt at home? I’ve been considering converting it into a switch rod :stuck_out_tongue:

Marty

Do I detect a wee bit of jelousy? lol.
I told the guys at ESPN they’d have to hire both of us or it was no deal. lol.

I am the Rodney Dangerfield to your Sean “P. Diddy” (or is it just “Diddy” now?) Combs! I demand a 50% share! You’re just saying that about ESPN because you don’t want to hurt my feelings. I’m already picking out a bow tie for our next outing to make me instantly recognizable.

OK, seriously now, did you fish the stretch down near 15? I’m trying to figure out exactly where this is going down…

Marty

Now you’re just being melodramatic. How about 60-40? lol. What did I tell ya about the bow ties? You don’t want to turn out like the round headed guy under the bridge do ya? lol.

Actually, i’ve fished it off Rt. 6 around Galeton and Ansonia. I can’t remember if it was 15 that runs by Cedar and Slate runs, but i’ve been down there as well. I haven’t been down there in a couple years, so I don’t remember the routes to well.

Dates are set and arrangements with Happy Acres are taken care of . Dates will be June 6th through 10th. Give me weekend and I will have infornation posted by Tues. the 23rd.

Ok guys, the roads that you’re thinking about are rtes 44 and 414. Take 220 north out of Williamsport and go to rte 44 just past Jersey shore. Turn north onto 44 til you get to Waterville. Slate and Cedar run is just up the road from there on 414.
Gaines and Ansonia are up on rte 6 on the north side of the canyon about 15 min north of Wellsboro; Sheesh- I’m a tour guide.

Wet fly- got a feeling well be using that sweet tater recipe.-keep tying flies, I’ll need them

Empeekay- I would really like to see you and your son again.Tell matt that we will have MORE turkey this time.oh, that was flyman 3 that thru the thermo in the water, not wet fly guy.AND he too is going.

Can’t wait to see the rest of the guys-- DOTMAN, you bringing the Harley up again??

Randy

Should work for me. About a 3.5-hr drive, plenty worth it!

Phil, you’re awfully generous to offer me 60% of all profits. Now that’s what I call a class act!
