Hello all, I am a newbe here on the BB. Been reading FAOL for about two years. THough it was about time to get in on the discussions. I am going to be in the Outer Banks in July and want to try some salt water fishing. I have a 9ft 8wt. What is the best line to use a floating or an intermedite line? And help would much appreciated.

I spend as much time as I can on Hatteras island and fly fish in the sound and ocean. Most times I will use an intermediate sinking line both sound and ocean. There are some nice holes and sloughs in both sound and ocean and I will use a sinking tip. In July the water is going to be pretty warm for good fishing in the sound except early am. Could get flounder, spanish, and blues in the ocean. Could also find some small drum/red fish. If you want more info send me an e-mail Good luck Walt
