Orvis Silver Sonic defective?

My bride gifted me a pair of Orvis Silver Sonics and I wore them for the first time today, and as soon as I got in over my knee the right leg flooded with water at the seam. I returned them for a refund. The fly shop guy said they havent had any problems with them and tried to get me to try another pair. But they had 100% defect rate with me and I was afraid the next pair may not show a defect until after the 60 day window Orvis allows. Too bad, they were my first “premium” waders and I really liked them except for the fact I was wet wading with my right leg. The reviews on these are great. Has anyone else had a problem with these or did I get the only bad pair ever made?

They tested well in this wader shootout:

I have the Redington Sonic Pro waders which are built using an Orvis patent of the the sonic seam technology, and I really like them . My guess is that you just got a bad pair
