Wildone,
THANK YOU for the kind words!!!
Made me happy when I read that post!
Definately put a smile on my face!
P.S. I reorganized my nymph box!! I will post a NEW picture of it all RE-organized!
And I added a few flies to my dry fly box…Might have to post another pic of that to!

Heres the dry fly box.

I decided instead of carrying 6 of every pattern That I would only carry 3! ![]()
Anyways hope you like them.
"I decided instead of carrying 6 of every pattern That I would only carry 3! "
Chris, I like that …in fact, was thinking of posting wondering why some folks carry rows and rows of the same fly
Chris,
I agree with that on the majority of boxes but you can make an exception too!
You know a few extras might come in handy for giving to other not so fortunate fly fishers.
Doug ![]()
Remember Doug, The local lake I take these boxes to is full of baitfishers…The only other fly fisher is a buddy of mine and he basically has the same box! and if I have a pattern thats working I give him one and vice versa. The only other times I see other fly fishers is around twice a month! So I dont end up giving out many flies.
I have to say that although younger than almost everyone here if not the youngest, Chris knows his STUFF and doesn’t play games about it. If he doesn’t know, he asks. I want to adopt him!
Anyway,
Here is my boxes, and I have the same set up that Fly and Tie has with the System X and the Rust Proof boxes by Orvis, plus several CHEAP boxes…after all they just hold flies.

Majority of the time, I just through the flies in the boxes during the busy times so this is as neat as they get.
Just like an organized desk organized fly boxes are the sign of a sick mind! [url=http://www.thesmilies.com:88f28]

Seriously, mine look nice and neat until after a day on the stream. Then they look like borderline chaos.[url=http://www.thesmilies.com:88f28]

I also have an observation. F&T is not very negative to other peoples posting. If you disagree with someone, doesn’t mean it’s negative. I consider your post a negative post. How do you feel about that? So I can say you’re a negative poster…
I’m not siding with him, I’m just observing.
FWIW- in a pinch I’ve used Asian made flies (re. sweatshop) and they are crap. The hooks are weak, and the tying is weak. They don’t last.
I know Rainey has some tied in the Phillipeans (sp?) but she has total control over it.
I don’t know about Benton’s flies, but they seem pretty cheap to me. I’m curious if he ties all the flies he sells.
I switched some of my streamers into a cheap plastic size medium Ripple/flat box. Will post a picture of it tomorrow. You guys and gals are gonna puke…Its a little to organized LOL
Hay you all
I think one of the reasons I/we carry so many flies of one type, was proven this last Sat…
I had one fly my son gave back to me(I tie for the family) I tied it on and had about a 4lb cut/bow grab it and snap it off and disappear almost thought I dreamed, BUT could not get any thing to hit in that big pool again tried all the flies close to what I had but nothing ![]()
If I had six more of that fly , a para/peacock hurl/light dun hackle dry size 16, mustad hook 94833, I would have had a ball instead I practiced my casting to every corner of the pool, BUT that is fishing eh!
Great thread its always a good thing to be able to look into another anglers fly box.
