Sorry to beat this to death. Based purely on impulse, I bought this today for $9.99 on ebay. The seller had it listed as a “stand up rod holder with fighting belt” which I’m assuming is wrong. I have studied the pictures of the scotty. Can anyone verify if this is the Scotty fly rod holder for float tubes. At the risk of coming off like someone who just bought a $600 dollar fly rod and then coming on here to ask if it is any good…um is this the fly rod holder?

It is a float tube rod holder. But is it a fly rod holder? 
Hummm, donno kid. It’ll hold a rod alright, but your rod is all that matters.
Might want to get a bridle for your rod so you don’t accidentally deep 6 it. 
janus, i feel safe in saying that’s a fly rod holder. i had two flush mount scotty fly rod holders on my kayak that looked just like that, other than the straps. have you slid your rod in there to see if it fits?
Yes, that is a Scotty fly rod holder. I have them on my kayak also. I pay about $28 apiece for them, so, I would say you got a good deal. The strap over the top will hold the rod in place, so, as long as it it hooked, the rod isn’t going anywhere.
