I would like to conduct my first swap and I was thinking that flies for northern pike and bass have only the limit of the tyers amagination. Streamers and poppers ,bass style bugs, clouser minnows, your choice. Flys suitable for northerns could even be suitable for largemouth bass. Let your amagination run wild and lets see your favorite patterns for large aggressive fish.
Lets limit the swap to 10 tyers plus myself. Sign
up by September 30th , Flies to me no later
than October 31st. Each tyer ties 1 fly
for each of the other tyers.
Send your flies in a box big enough and
strong enough to hold the flies you will
recieve back. Include in your package a self
addressed envelope big enough and strong
enough to mail your flies back to you.
Include with you envelope enough postage or cash
to send the package back to you. Please
do not use metered mailing strips.
I am in Canada and will not be able to use US stamps as return postage. Swaps I have joined have cost me roughly $5 to mail to the USA. However US stamps will work for me as return postage in future swaps I join, I will accept US stamps as return postage as I will just keep the stamps and ship the flies with Canadian stamps.
Please toetag your flies with at least
your on linename, the name of the fly,
and your email address.
I hope we can all have fun with this swap.
For this swap I will be tying my version of a micky finn streamer with bead chain eyes. I substitute long Icelandic sheep sheep wool instead of the traditional bucktail in alot of my micky finns.
These flys worked great last weekend I was out for northerns.

Hillard I think I would like to get in on this one with my version of the Hard Hackle Worm in a size 4. I have caught a few Pike on this one while fishing for LMB. If this is ok with you. Thanks for hosting what looks to be a nice and fun swap. John

Still Lots of time left to get in on this one. Hopefully it fills up soon. If it fills up long before the deadline and I recieve everyones flies I’ll mail them out as early as possible, so we all can have some good fall fishing.
My flies went in the mail today. I included some extra for the Swapmeister. I do not include one to be sent back to me. Thanks again for letting me join in on this swap. John
Thanks for joining up. A Perch clouser pattern will be great, I know a local lake here with 10lb brown trout that have only ever taken perch imatation crank baits for me in the past. It’s a tough lake to fish, lots of weed beds but tons of perch and large browns in it too. I’m still looking for my trophy pike as I only ever seem to get into the small ones just under the min size limit. I heard of a lake in JAsper National park that local guys are hauling pike adveraging 10-15lbs out on fly lately with a few monsters well over 20lbs being somewhat common. It’s only 20 min from my front door so I will be making a trip there with these swap flies time and weather conditions permiting. We’ll be due for snow anytime now in the higher elevations, actually had snow in the mountains 2 weeks ago.
Just bumping this up abit. Still 5 spots open. I will be away to the east coast. Leaving Aug 30th and returning Sept 5th. If this swap fills up before I return I will fill it in order of signup.
OK. We finished another swap committment, soooo. If ya don’t mind us tying up some of what seems to almost always work for us, an Embellished Lefty’s Deceiver, we’d like to join up.
If that is too much like White 43’s choice, we’ll change ours to a gurgler that generally works well for us. Make up our mind.
