Newby rod builder question-spiral wraps

When someone describes a rod as having a “metallic
spiral” wrap,where would that be placed at on the blank?

:shock: Here comes Miss Information!! (Ha! like I know what I’m talking about!!)

The only place I’d use a spiral metalic wrap (or any spiral wrap) would be on the hook keeper feet connected by a spiral wrap under the hook keeper, of maybe 4 open wraps. FWIW

Oh, my gosh! I’ve never seen anything like that before!! Really kewl. Working on a new rod for Cary right now, may have to give that technique a try!!
