I haven’t had much time for tying this year, so still consider myself a newbie after tying in 2004. Recently picked up a book I realy like for newbie tyers, though. “The Art of Fly Tying” by John van Vliet. I really recommend it for those starting out. It cleared up a bunch of things I’d been wrestling with after other newbie books.

The Art of Fly Tying" by John van Vliet, is an excellent book, for beginner’s as well as a teaching tool, for those trying teach others how to tie flies. I passed my copy forward to another member of FAOL, a few years ago, to help them out.

“Swim”, said the Mommy Fishy, “Swim if you can!”
And they, swam swam, all over the Dam.
