Holman Lake at Little Buffalo State Park in Newport, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
MOturkE,
The gills, crappie, yellow perch, large mouth bass and tiger muskie are incredible in this lake. It’s also stocked twice yearly with trout. Breeders in the fall and young ones in the spring. It can be a tough lake because it’s very fertile. Lots of minnows, crawdads and heavy insect populations. Last week one of our local youngsters caught a 14 3/4" crappie there! Al’s Crappie Candy is a favorite of mine in this lake. Wooly buggers, poppers, duns, stone fly and nymphs do well too. Last spring the rangers found a 50" 45lb. tiger muskie floating along the shore tangled in mono. They were unable to revive it and had it mounted on the wall of their new environmental center. I’ll see if I can get a picture of it.
BTW, the pic was taken with my new Razr cell phone.
