New rod!

Well … some assembly required!

You will note that there’s no grip shown … it will be a cigar grip when it arrives, to replace the one that broke in two places while reaming (see earlier post!). The thread is olive silk, Expresso agate stripping guide, Lemke reel seat (down locking, of course!!), and the blank? Lamiglas 7’3# ! Yee haw!

Sweeeeet! You spoiled, spoiled girl:D. Have fun and don’t drool in the finish!

Kelly.

Beautiful combination! Betty, you should come visit and I’ll show you how to turn your own cork grips on a lathe. And you can inspire me to actually put together a couple of rods for which I bought the parts years ago. Enjoy that Lamiglas!

Let me know how those thread pullers work. I haven’t had a chance to try them with silk.

Isn’t silk just caterpillar poop?

That rod is going to be beautiful, Betty.

Well, yes, I guess TECHNICALLY you could call it that! Will let you know how they work on silk!

My flight arrives at 7:20 this evening!!

Well, yes … yes I am!!!

That will be a beauty, I’m looking forward to seeing the pictures when it’s finished.

Greg

Betty,

Looks like a fun project. I especially like that reel seat. Very sharp looking!

I WANT ONE…heeheehee that going to be one fine rod ms. betty!!!

… but would you please post a pic of a fish caught on that rod next week ??

Thanks.

John

P.S. If you bring the rod to the Bitterroot, I guarantee you that I will get you on trouts ( that don’t live in ugly places ).

Betty, you’re going to love that Lami. Here’s a pic of the 7 1/2’ 4# 3 piece I built a while back. Sorry I sold it. I may have to build another.

A Lami, that will be a nice rod when done Betty cant wait to see it finished!

Steve

Hello Betty; I’ve been reading your posts for quite some time now and it’s great to see that you are right into the rod building as a spin-off from fly tying breaks. The completed rods you have posted have been nicely done and now another one…a glass rod should be nice. Hopefully we will see it finished with a feather inlay???
Cheers from Ontario Canada!
