My wife and I, after spending almost a month in Pagosa Springs, CO had to leave 4 days early because she got sick. After trying to talk her into seeing a DR at their clinic she finally let me take her to the ER. She was extremly dehydrated and needed 3 bags of fluids through an IV to stabilize her. They couldn’t tell exactly what her problem was. She saw her DR when we got home and was diagnosed with salmonella. YIKES!
Well it’s been almost a month since she got sick and she was getting antsy so we went to Bishop, CA for a little R&R. Friday she went for a 5 mile round trip hike to Tyee Lake with her cousin, made it to the lake and came back down. About 200 feet from the end of the trail she stepped wrong, went down and fractured her left fibula. Back to the ER. She’s going to need 6 to 8 weeks to get well from this one.
She’s a 1st grade teacher and needs to be in her classroom this week to get ready for the kiddos to come back in a few weeks. So I guess what I’m doing with this thread is asking for prayers for Debbie to heal quickly. Thanks. Jim
So the prayers are sent from here in Wyoming. My wife says to tell her to take it carefully and let her students know what is going on. They may be a bigger help than she may realise.
I’m sorry to hear of your wife’s difficulties. Please know that you and your wife will be in my prayers for a fast and complete recovery.

Best wishes to your wife for a speedy, complete and uneventful recovery.

Prayers for the both of you! Do have her explain it to the kids! She’ll be a real novelty, and a great entrance to their new world of scholastics. “Well, yah, but MY teacher has a broken LEG!” top that one, ech??
You were so there/here for me, and I will definitely be here/there for you!!
Definitely prayers from the Goduster, Southwest Custom Rods household, I know the feeling, after having a freightliner truck run my wife into a wall on the freeway and totalling her car on the 26th she is now trying to recoup from 3 breaks in her ankle, along with a fractured hand.
Prayers coming to her from my part of Oregon.
Rocky
Thank you all.
Goduster, Prayers going out to your wife too. Jim
Mrs Goduster says thanks, as of course I do also.
Jim,
I will gladly include your wife in my prayers. Your wife as well Goduster.
Jim, Prayers sent. Best Regards…
Prayers sent. I tend to think that first grade teachers in general need a few extra prayers at the start of the school year.

Prayers from a rainy (YES!) Livingston,MT.
Thank you all. We went to the orthopedic doc today. No surgery, no pins. Keep wearing the air cast. Keep foot elevated above heart for swelling. Take it easy for 6 to 8 weeks. I got out an old walker I’ve had stored for awhile. Much better for her than crutches. Now we’ve gotta find a larger velcro closing low cut shoe for her left foot. I read Debbie all the responses on this thread. She says to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. God is good. Jim
Prayers coming from this direction as well. If she plays it right, those kids will be a huge help to her. It’s amazing what those little munchkins will do to feel helpful.
Had to take Debbie to the school district today for an accommodations meeting with the powers that be. She has been suspended from work until totally healed. That will probably take about 8 weeks. Doc says 6 to 8 weeks.
I’m like PARTY BONUS! I get to spend 2 more months with her, but she’s upset because she loves her job. Loves teaching the little guys and gals their numbers, ABC’s and manners. Plus for the first time in several years she only has 20 kids on her roster. Last year she had 36 for math in the afternoon. She was real happy about that. She really was looking forward to meeting them all on the first day.
Continued prayers for her please. JIm
Hang in there Debbie! Prayers for speedy recovery. Let nature take it’s course.
