Need a thumbs up or down please on chenille color

I had the Mfg make this sample for me and am trying to decide if I want to order it for real. Please don’t look at the jig part, just the chenille and tell me if you like it please. The Mfg has never made this before.

Ask the fish, not us! They are the ones whose opinions matter.

I would call it “mold”, tho. Or maybe “penicillin”.

Skip,

Guess it depends on what you are fishing for regarding using that color of chenille or not. It is a good color, I have some almost like it and have used it for some saltwater flies. If the fish you are fishing for have taken flies of that color in the past then go for it. If not then give it a trial run to see if the fish take it or leave it.

aw man… thats got a lot of potential…

'Specially on a bugger body.

Thumbs up. Great color combination.
Joe

I like it, If the fish like it I want some. I think it would make a good mini-bugger for Gills.

YUP!

Panfish will love it.

Just be careful not to hit you rod while casting it.

Rabbit fur, and marabou are also great materials for micro jig flies.

Have fun fishing it,
chris

For me, bluegills and crappies and bass have really liked yellow this year, but I have to say I’ve never done well with blue.

So… when you combine those colors, I have to give it one thumb UP, and one thumb DOWN.

Another thought is that perhaps the combination would look more greenish, perhaps, and of course fish love the green sheen of peacock herl. So… I still don’t know what the fish will think.

Thanks guys for the input.

I fish for crappie first and bass next. Crappie love the blue/chart and blue/white, I use these colors a lot. I just wanted something different and picked this. Maybe when I order this I will pick one more like this in different colors to see how it does as well.

Any ideas for mix colors like this? Here is the colors I can get like the blue and as for the yellow I can get most any colors to go with these.
Pearl, Silver, Gold, Black, Red, Green, Royal Blue, Copper, Rainbow, Purple, Lime and of course the other blue I have in that jig.

I have seen black with Lime and that looks pretty good too.

Skip,
The best colors I have found for crappie in my area of Texas have been Black/Chartreuse (or Lime, I guess), Chartreuse/White (Pearl), and Red/White.
Joe

“Flour. Hot Pink & Yellow” works very well, out here on the West Coast for a lot of species, Glo God.

How about yellow on an olive base? pearl on a yellow base? olive on olive? UV black on black? white/pearl on red? blue on purple (for the steelheaders). Also look at yellow on black, orange on black, chartreuse/lime on black, black and olive… there are sooooooo many choices.

Wish I had seen this before my order as I ask for a few samples and they are…
Fl Green with Purple Crystal
Fl Orange with Black Crystal
Red with green Crystal
and I think that also was Fl White with Silver crystal.

Have a sample with Black with Lime Crystal.

Would like to see a few more and may call to see if they made them yet, if not can add a few more to see.

I ordered the Fl Yellow with Blue Crystal and also some variegated Nylon FL Orange and Tobacco Brown for my Texas Craw jigs.

No Stealhead around here so don’t know what they like. I would love to find out by getting a chance to fish for some.

Thanks,

If you order some, let me know and I’ll have you order me some. also the other colors.

Floyd

I already ordered the one shown in this thread. when it comes in there will be samples of the others and after I get these samples of the others and see the interest on the crappie boards I will decide if and when I will order. At that time if you want I can PM you to see if you want any.

couldnt that color be achieved by twisting 2 different strands of materiall to make that color?

I am sure the color can be done like that, but I just like it better when it is made into the chenille. It looks better than the pic too.

Thanks,

Skip

Sounds good Skip.
