I just recovered my collection of magazines and books.
Do any of you have any of these books???
Thanks,
Doug
I’m not sure if you’re asking if we have these books or if you’re looking for them for your library. If the latter is the case, then you can find at least one of them at Hamiltonbook.com
LAKE FISHING WITH A FLY.
By R. Cordes & R. Kaufmann. Paperbound. Published at $26.95 Our Price $3.95
I do own the Fly Patterns by Umpqua Featehr Merchants, however I am not interested is selling it. If I remember correctly, someone asked about this book about six months ago and the price it was commanding is outragous. Somewhere in the range of $250 and up.
I want to be clear, I own these books.
I just wanted to see if anyone had any of these.
James, your not interested in selling it and neither am I. The 98 price for the second edition Umpqua book is $49.95

Ducksterman,
I tried three different searches on Amazon Books before I got results. The PROBLEM is the results were for Fly Patterns of Umpqua Feather Merchants, The World’s 1,100 Best Flies, by Randall Kaufmann, the FIRST BOOK, NOT the second edition 1,500 Best Flies.
The 3 sellers were selling the FIRST 1,100 Fly book for $219.00-$225.00.
Does anyone have any idea how much the second edition is WORTH?
Any ideas of WHERE to search?
Thank You!
Doug
I have the first edition of Fly Patterns of Umpqua Feather Merchants.
It was a gift that must have been purchased from Gary LaFontaine because his section of the book is autographed by him.
I don’t know why, I had bought other books by him, from him, in the past and he never signed those
(I just sent out a bunch of books to a young member of this site.
I’m glad I didn’t include that one)
Ducksterman,
I want to thank you for the PM about the Umpqua Book! That info really made my day!
I felt like I was on the PBS Antiques Road Show!
It’s funny that the ONLY good investment I’ve made was by accident!
It might take another 20 yrs for the price to go up enough on the 2nd edition, for me to sell it.
Thanks,
Doug
