Scott really like your “muddled” flies.
I was reading Bates’ Streamer Fly Tying and Flies and saw a pattern called the injured minnow. Its a full spun deer hair body streamer. With all the spun deer hair flies you have been tying, just wondering if you have tied one of these?

That’s a fly I’m not familiar with but I’m game for anything; love to see a picture of one.

Regards,
Scott

Scott
here is an image of it.
Hook. #2 8X long
Tail. Brown calf tail
Body. Deer hair spun and clipped
Collar. Yellow hackle wound on as a collar with unclipped deer hair around it
Wing. Medium blue saddle four feathers
Head Clipped deer hair
That is the order it is written in the book but looking at the picture it appears the wing is tied before the collar and head

It is greased and fished slowly on the surface like an injured smelt.

Oh man, that is one wild pattern. I will have to up my deer hair game to do justice to it.

Regards,
Scott
