British stillwater pattern from Dennis Moss.
hook - Mustad 3399A #12
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - hackle fibers badger
rib - small wire copper
abdomen - goose quill fibers
thorax - peacock herl
hackle - hen badger
Part 1
mash barb, start thread; tie in wire and wrap to bend
measure (gap width past bend) some hackle fibers; tie in/trim
tie in some goose fibers; wrap to 2/3 mark, tie off/trim
counterwrap rib; helicopter ned, cover with thread

tie in peacock, twist around thread, wrap thorax; tie off/trim
tie in (folded) hackle by tip
wrap, tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

Nice pattern and SBS, but with due respect to Mr. Moss, I’m not sure I like the name. There are a couple of places I fish that every fly turns into a moss magnet.:???:

That’s the truth. Fish the Missouri in August and it doesn’t matter if the fly’s wet or dry; it’s gonna get slimed and turn green.
