I’ve found that board postings are really down across the board on fly fishing forums.
I visit FAOL regularly, post questions where it helps to have a large audience of fly fishers, and try to chime in if I can help answer a question. I visit another one where most of the people know each other well, but most of the posting traffic there is on their off-topic and politics boards. I visit a Colorado board for more local info. Another board, which tries to cover the rocky mountain region, is almost dead as group of regulars never came together in cyber-friendship and it is not a good way to access local info.
Rather than post links and direct traffic away from FAOL, I’ll just say that I also visit sites that target specific niches within fly fishing, namely: Ultralight, Fiberglass, and Bamboo.
