We have over 50 signed up for our Michigan Fish-In this August 14-20…there are FAOL friends coming (so far) from 15 States & 1 Canadian Province.

Sounds like there will be a froth downstream from all the flailing flylines. “Froth from flailing flylines”? Now say THAT fast three times.
In any case, I’ll be there adding to the froth.If there’s NO room to fish, I’ll just EAT. Sounds like Jack and Mike will expand culinary horizons for sure.
Wife and I are now vacationing in Kalifornia and maybe I’ll learn some wine pairings for all the BQs they’re are sure to have.

Mark,
There will be food for sure!..I’m showing up with a mega-batch of my peanut butter fudge, & there will be slow smoked brisket, sloppy joes, grilled corn on the cob, possibly deep fried turkey…who KNOWS what??..see you there!
BTW, we MIGHT even get to do a little fishin’!!

I am 72.325% sure of being there. It sounds like a hoot and I sure do miss my old stompin’ grounds!
Might as well toss North Carolina in the mix!

Hey there Jackster,
That “Ohio sucks” comment may be a bit dangerous. I’d suggest you bring a food " taster" with you to the fish in. Laxitives can be easily disguised into peanut butter fudge. And you might find yourself too “busy” to fish.

The DoD has denied my leave for the dates of the fish-in. We submitt requested leave for the year in february but there is no promise that we will get it. Usually it’s not a problem but we cannot get any advanced dates right now and there were probably more senior people than I requesting that time off. I can and will continue to reapply for the dates through the summer, but at this time it doesn’t look good.

Nighthawk - The Army National Guard keeps a huge stockpile of surplus tanks near Grayling. Maybe your next mission will be to come up and inspect for rust? There’s a very nice American Legion post there too!
