Does anyone know what type of bead is used? All of mine just go right over the eye of the hook.

You are going to love the micro mayfly on the Vrain if you’ve never tried it before. BEWARE! THEY WILL TRY TO KILL IT!

I’m not one to slam another tier, because I often take short cuts around established patterns, but when tied Mercer style, with an added strand of krystal flash and drop of epoxy on the wing case, it’s even better. I even tie it with no pheasant wing case, rather a piece of mylar tinsel, for a quick stream-side or out on a trip fix. Experimenting adds an edge to each craftsman, making a pattern different, if only by minimal margins, yet sometimes rewarding with great abundance.
