Looking for a bit of advice

So I’ve decided to build a rod from a kit, I just haven’t picked a kit yet. Does anyone have any suggestions on a rod kit that has everything I would need to assemble a rod. I’m in the process of finishing up a wooden rod hand wrapping jig. Just need to build a thread tensioner to go with it (if anyone has any plans for one I’d be interested). But I figure this winter is as good a time as any to give it a whirl and see if it is something I’d like to get into. So if anyone has any suggestions about current fly rod kits that I should look into that would be good for someone who has never built a rod I’m all ears.

Try Hook and hackle’s web site for a variety of kits. They also have a lot of instructions and hints on the site.

Hook and Hackle. You can contact them directly for any help during the building process

I’ve been on their site quite a bit lately, is there anything I should order in addition to the kit? Or are the kits pretty complete with ample supply for a newbie.

If you order the complete kit with glues and finish you will be good. If you have any questions about their kits, give them a call. Tell them that Brad sent you.
