Late season angler photo

The photo on the Home Page, is beautiful. I save many of these Home Page Photos on my computer for my desktop display.

“Late Season Angler” has a special aspect where the photo seems to be 3 Dimensional…

Thank You Tom Travis for the photo that I will save and use over and over again on my desktop. Thank you to all the others who photos have run on previous editions of FAOL.

Kingfishers are just cool!!!

I need to get a new lens for my D40! Get back into getting some GREAT photos.

I’ve seen Kingfishers in several of my fishing areas in the past couple years. I usually hear them before I see them.

I’ve also seen several Bald Eagles, and even an Osprey, while out fishing.

Here are a couple more anglers. Taken at Piper Pond in Abbot,Maine. One on nest.

Some fishers scoff at the idea of “being the heron”.

Nice pic of the female belted kingfisher!

As a kid, I would climb trees looking for lures before I got involved in fly fishing and made the unfortunate mistake of climbing one with a King Fisher nest in it. I can still feel the bumps on my head after 40 years. OUCH!

How can you tell the difference between the mail and female? OK Guys, let’s be serious.

The rust colored band is only found on females.
