Does anyone have experience with the Korkers Wetlands boots?
If they’re good, are they still in production, or are they discontinued?
Cheers,
Andrew

Andrew,
They have been discontinued. I bought a pair at Cabelas with a Christmas gift card, but got the last pair of size 9 & they were too small, so I returned them & picked up a pair of Korkers Outfitters for $80.00…they retailed for $130. They have new boots this year with a new sole attachment, but I have heard great things about the old ones, so I took advantage of the price break. Haven’t used mine yet. The Wetlands seem like a nice boot, but the Outfitters are available for a great price too, so don’t I would at least look at them if I were you. Either way, I don’t think you can go wrong. BTW, try to get extra soles while you can. I also got a great buy on the studded rubber soles & am still looking for a sale price on the studded felt.
Let us know what you decide.
Mike
I found my wetlands to fall apart rather easily. I have only had them a couple season and there are rather large holes on both boots and I have lost 2 or three soles to mud and such. The strap on one of the sole even tore off. My dad’s upper end korkers still have the sole problem but they have help up better.
I have a pair of the Wetlands (size 9 for wet wading) and the Konvertibles (size 10 for the extra thick socks in the winter). Both have held up very well both wading and hiking. If you go with the old styles, order a set of replacement soles, because they will stop making them.
I have a pair and love them. I chose the Wetlands over the Outfitter because it has fewer metal parts. For most people that might be a negative, but about 60% of my fishing is in salt water. I only have about 15 days fished in them so far, but I’ve had no problems and find them very comfortable. I’ve worn them fishing salt flats, fast moving rivers and small creeks. I use felt and studded soles depending on conditions. No complaints.
I have the older model Wetlands. I chose them over the Outfitters, because the fit much better. I wore holes in the outer fabric, in less than a season. I had one of the sole straps come off, and the studs almost fallout. To be fair, i’m hard on my gear. :? Anyway, the last time I looked, the recent models have been upgraded. With the addition of some materials, they should wear much better. I also heard they upgraded the soles, to solve some of those issues. If i’m reading it right, it seems there’s another newer model. Maybe they fixed all the previous problem?
