knots....

We are thinking of trying to eliminate nail knots from our systems and are not always fond of added loops, which are also dependant of the coating to core bond of your line.
I like the Castwell knot for line to leader connection. Being prone to changing stuff a lot, we wonder how many of these we could do before useing up the bit of level line at the front of the taper. Would an Albright work for attatching a butt section? Guess you could do the same with a castwell knot too…add a butt section? Then loop to loops with your leaders to the butt?
Hmmm. Need to fish more than just yesterday…too much useless quandry while sitting around!

lol, Lee, I have never found any problem with the end of my fly line using the C knot. My leaders seem to last a long time so I don’t have to re-tie often. When I tie the knot I wiggle it down so there is little or nothing to cut off.
