Klinkhamer Hooks

I’ve decided to try my hand at some klinkhamer style flies, found some great patterns to try and practice my parachute tying, and was wondering if there are other styles of hooks besides the klinkhamer hooks, i.e. Daiichi D1167, that would work just as well?

Thanks,
Mike

I have used the Mustad c49s and just bent them a little.

Originally I used the Partridge K12ST and put a bend in it. Now I use the Varivas 2200 It is a more realistic size, doesn’t need the bend putting in, and, I think, is better at hooking fish. These are not really a Klinkhammers but it is the same sort of pattern tied on the 2200 hook. (in the foreground some of the flies I hang below them.)

Cheers,
A.

I know that Daiichi makes one too. I just can’t recall the model number

Daiichi D1167

Ha, I guess I should read the entire original post. :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually there’s a 1167 and 1160 the difference being is the finish on the hook I believe.

I wish Daiichi would make a Klinkhammer Extreme hook. I have had a terrible time trying to source those.

I use the Gamakatsu C12 fine wire scud hooks with good results.

Speaking of Gamakatsu, anyone use the C15-BV? Flat spot on the top and vertical eye. I love Gamakatsu hooks for their sharpness.

AlanB
did you actually weave those flies from wire? Da*m!

Yes. It is the easiest weave to do. Don’t want to hijack the thread so I’ll post a few pics on a new one.
Cheers,
A.
