JC, Doesn’t that just mean that besides folks using any cleaning method they deem fit, it might just be smarter to use the product suggested by the manufacturer of their particular fly line? That way they can go ahead and clean and tinker with their toys without a worry in the world. On the other hand, don’t forget, some of these folks aren’t as old as us. I still use what I’ve used for 60 years. Soap and water for fly line and 3-in 1-Oil for reels. Neither one has failed me yet and you can buy both items at any hardware store or super market.
