Good work, Warren! I can’t quite make out the telltale gill cover crescent but that looks to be a red ear. Maybe a 10-incher?

Joe,

They are what I have always called “shellcrackers” and they were really nice fish. As the river water temperatures continue to rise on the river we were fishing, there will be more warmwater fish. I have some other spots that will produce some really nice bluegill and crappie. This particular river does not have any generation and about June the water will be too warm for trout and they will stop stocking them.

Makes me want to go to the river. Its a long drive for me to the river. I don’t mind if I can bring some bream fillets home.
